Nostalgia sneaks up on me in small, funny ways. Sometimes it’s the smell of harmattan in December—the cool dusty breeze, dry lips, white chalky legs, and that foggy morning air that makes everything feel calm and quiet. Add a song from “back in the day,” or the clinking spoons in a busy kitchen, and suddenly I’m back to childhood mornings again.
I remember simpler days—no endless notifications, just laughter, warm tea, and neighbors shouting my full government name from outside the house.
Old photos, familiar roads, and even the taste of a meal I haven’t had in years remind me how far I’ve come and how beautifully life keeps changing.
Nostalgia doesn’t just make me miss the past. Those memories remind me how far I’ve come and how beautifully life keeps changing.
Nostalgia doesn’t only make me miss the past—it makes me grateful. It’s my heart saying, “Those were good days…and today can be good too.”
So today, pause for a moment. What little thing brings your own sweet throwback? A smell, a song, a road, or a person? Whatever it is, smile and enjoy it.
Have a beautiful, warm-hearted day 💛
Peace.
