Every time someone asks, “So, what colleges have you attended?” I just smile, because my academic journey has passport stamps. Yes oh, education carried me across continents!
My story begins at the prestigious University of Ibadan in Nigeria—aka the place where brain and book become best friends. UI will humble you and shape you at the same time. That campus taught me resilience, late-night reading marathons, NEPA survival skills, and how to find food when you’re “broke but not hungry.” It’s where I learned that intelligence isn’t loud—it’s consistent. UI gave me foundation, grit, community, and memories that still make me smile.
Fast-forward across the Atlantic to the United States, where I continued my journey with Grand Canyon University. New country, new system, same determination—just with better Wi-Fi and air-conditioning. GCU stretched me in different ways: online portals, discussion boards, APA formatting that can make you pray in tongues, and balancing life, work, and school like a pro. I discovered new confidence in myself and a global perspective I’ll always treasure.
Looking back, my academic path has been a blend of African strength and American opportunity—chalkboard to digital classroom, jollof rice to burgers, and everything in between. Each school left fingerprints on who I am today: stronger, wiser, bolder, and still learning.
So if you’re wondering whether it’s ever too late to pursue education or cross borders for your dreams, hear it from me: No be late matter—na determination matter. Whether your journey is local or international, prestigious or quiet, own it proudly.
And yes, my transcript now has an accent—half Nigerian, half American—but fully grateful.
Peace!
