What’s a promise you made to yourself that you’ve actually kept?

What is one promise you made to yourself that you have actually kept?

Hmm… I have made quite a few promises to myself over the years. Some survived. Some quietly disappeared like New Year’s resolutions by the second week of January.

But one promise that remains very important to me is this: I promised to work hard at loving and respecting myself.

And honestly, I believe I am still keeping that promise.

Loving yourself does not mean thinking you are perfect or waking up every morning feeling like the main character in a motivational movie. Sometimes, it simply means speaking kindly to yourself, setting boundaries, resting without guilt and refusing to accept less than you deserve.

It also means forgiving yourself for mistakes instead of holding a lifelong court case in your own mind.

I am still learning, growing and becoming better at choosing myself without feeling selfish. With God’s help, I want to continue honoring this promise for the rest of my life.

Because at the end of the day, I have to live with myself—and thankfully, I am becoming someone I truly enjoy being around.

What promise have you made to yourself that you are still keeping?

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
