
Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, aka MohBad, was a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter from Lagos. He was born on June 8, 1996, in Lagos, Nigeria, and died on September 12, 2023.

Career
Mohbad was born and raised in Lagos, where he completed his primary and secondary education. From a young age, he wanted to become a singer, but 2016 he started music professionally. Before he officially ventured into music the music industry, he practiced carpentry.
Mohbad had a unique, soothing voice that was catching. His music style is different as he sings mainly in his native language, “Yoruba,” but most people can relate to his music.
He got his most significant hit record in December 2020 on the record “KPK (Ko Por Ke), where the award-winning music producer, Rexxie, featured him.
He was formerly signed to Naira Marley’s Marlian Records and left the label in 2022.
Mohbad Private Life
Though the rapper kept his personal life away from the public glance, Unknown to many, Mohbad was a married man. He was married to his longtime girlfriend, Omawunmi, whom he had been dating for over ten years, and they remained together until his death. At the time of his death, he had beautiful a five-month-old baby boy with Omawunmi named Imole “Light.”
Mohbad is survived by his mother and father.

Hullabaloos
Mohbad was no stranger to controversy. In February 2023, Mohbad, Zinoleesky, and four others were arrested by National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) men for possessing illegal substances, including MDMA & cannabis, at their home in Lekki, Lagos. Witnesses disclosed that the search was conducted without a search warrant and that the Marlian singers were maltreated during the ordeal. They were all released later on.
On the 5th of October 2022, Mohbad called out his former record label boss, Naira Marley, for instructing people to beat him p after he told his label boss that he wanted another manager to handle his business and music affairs.
Demise
On the 12th of September 2023, the talented rapper passed on. The news of his death left fans and fellow celebrities shocked and saddened. The exact details surrounding his death haven’t been made public yet.
Speculations
It is, however, no longer news that in the Nigerian music scene, there is more than meets the eye. So many people have accused the Nigerian music industry of being a cabal where you must “belong” before you can excel or “blow” and remain relevant. There are suggestions that some of the groups parading as record labels are just criminal gangs using record labels as cover for their illegal activities like internet fraud and drug trafficking. They will make your life miserable if you dare try to exit or speak up. They will harass you, assault you, beat you, and blocklist you in the industry so that nobody ever sees your limelight again.
Following the massive media outburst concerning the death of Mohbad, while no one can expressly point towards anything that has been the direct cause of death of Mohbad, insiders, friends, or those close to him have been testifying to the fact that it was the series of ordeals he had in the hands of his former record labels that led to his untimely death.
The Nigerian police had promised to investigate his death to a reasonable conclusion.
