How do you manage screen time for yourself?

Let’s be honest — our phones have become our best friends and our biggest distractions. One minute, I’m checking an email or replying to a comment… next thing I know, I’m scrolling through funny reels and wondering where the last 45 minutes went 😅.

If that sounds familiar, you’re not alone. We live in a world where everything — work, faith, fun, and connection — is one tap away. But sometimes, that constant screen time quietly drains our focus, creativity, and even peace of mind.

So lately, I’ve been trying to be more intentional with my screen time — not perfect, just mindful. Here’s what’s helping me:

1. Setting screen limits. I started using my phone’s built-in “Focus” or “Do Not Disturb” mode. It’s amazing how much calmer I feel when those notifications stop buzzing every few seconds.

2. Creating “no-phone zones.” For me, that’s my morning devotional time and before bed. Those moments belong to God, not Instagram.

3. Choosing purpose over habit. Before opening an app, I now ask, “What am I here for?” If I don’t have a reason, I log off. Simple but powerful.

4. Replacing screen time with real life. A walk, journaling, calling a friend, or even just sitting in silence they all remind me that life is still beautiful beyond the glow of a screen.

Managing screen time isn’t about cutting yourself off from the world — it’s about giving yourself back to the moments that truly matter.

So, friend, here’s your challenge for today: try spending one hour less on your phone and use that time to do something that feeds your soul — pray, read, dance, or simply breathe. You might be surprised by how refreshed you feel. 💛

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
