Let me gist you! A friend invited my sister and me to a birthday party, but somehow, we mixed up the date and arrived at the venue one week late.
When we entered the hall, a full wedding reception was going on. We sat down, collected food, enjoyed the music, and kept wondering, “Why does this birthday party look so much like a wedding?”
We convinced ourselves that it might have been a combined birthday and wedding anniversary celebration. After all, who were we to question free food and good music?
About 30 minutes later, we noticed we had not seen a single familiar face. That was when suspicion finally entered our minds. We stepped outside and called the friend who invited us.
She said, “My party was last Saturday!”
Phew! We had confidently crashed someone else’s wedding reception!
I apologized for missing my friend’s birthday, but since I had already eaten the food and enjoyed the vibes, I went back inside, continued celebrating with the couple, and even dropped off my birthday gift for them.
At least I did not leave empty-handed—or empty-stomached! 😂
