Nigerian music sensation Asake, popularly known as Ololade Mr. Money, has once again got people talking—this time, not with his music but with his dramatic new appearance.

Asake, a Nigerian music artist, showcasing his dramatic new appearance with facial tattoos and a unique hairstyle while in a recording studio.

Recently, the hitmaker unveiled tattoos covering his face and much of his body, paired with a striking new hairstyle. While many fans applauded the singer for expressing himself freely, not everyone welcomed the transformation.

One of his outspoken critics is Ossai Ovie Success, the Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor. In a detailed Facebook post, Ossai accused Asake of abandoning African cultural values in favor of what he described as Western-influenced lifestyles. According to him, Asake’s new look reflects a disconnect from the struggles that shaped his journey to stardom.

This sparked heated debates online, with supporters arguing that artists should be free to reinvent themselves creatively, while others echoed Ossai’s sentiment, insisting that African entertainers should remain true to their cultural identity. But Asake Himself Says at the 2025 Grammy Awards, as he addressed his transformation:

“This is how I feel now. I love to feel comfortable in my look, do things that I feel are good for me. This is not about anybody.”

Asake, a former signee of Olamide’s YBNL Nation label, has always been known for his unique style and daring moves, but this new chapter seems to have stirred even deeper conversations about art, culture, and personal expression in the entertainment industry.
