When Good News Hits, I Praise First—Then I Eat 🍽️🙌
When I get amazingly fantastic news, I don’t scream, I don’t panic, and I definitely don’t pretend to be calm.
I sing praises to God—from the deepest part of my heart.
Not the polished, choir-ready kind either. I mean the spontaneous, joy-overflowing, “Lord, You really did this!” kind of praise. The kind that starts quietly and suddenly turns into a full-blown gratitude session right there in the living room. Sometimes with happy tears. Sometimes with off-key singing. Always with a thankful heart.
Once heaven has been properly acknowledged (a very important step), I move on to the next sacred ritual: celebrating with my family.
I gather my children and my hubby and announce, “We are going out.”
Lunch or dinner—doesn’t matter. Food must be involved. Good news tastes better when shared over a table, preferably one I don’t have to clean afterward. 😄
We laugh. We talk. We replay the good news at least five times, like it might disappear if we don’t. The kids get excited. My hubby smiles that knowing smile. And I sit there quietly grateful, thinking, This is joy. This is a blessing.
For me, great news isn’t complete until:
- God gets the glory 🙏
- My family gets my time ❤️
- Someone orders dessert 🍰
Life moves fast, but moments like these remind me to pause, praise, and celebrate—because every good thing truly deserves gratitude… and a nice meal.
Now tell me—are you team praise first or food first? 😄
Peace!
