Spain is facing a serious humanitarian and security crisis at its border with Morocco after thousands of migrants attempted to enter the Spanish territory of Ceuta by land and sea. Some reportedly swam around border barriers, while clashes occurred between crowds and Moroccan security forces.

Spain has deployed additional police and military personnel as reception facilities struggle to accommodate new arrivals. Tragically, several people have reportedly died while attempting the dangerous crossing. Authorities in Spain and Morocco are working to restore order, assist vulnerable migrants, and prevent further loss of life as the situation continues to develop.
