Daily writing prompt
You get to build your perfect space for reading and writing. What’s it like?
A cozy reading and writing nook featuring a large soft chair with a blanket, a wooden side table holding a cup of tea and an open book, all framed by a window showcasing a serene ocean view.

If I could design my perfect space for reading and writing, it wouldn’t be crowded with fancy gadgets. It would be simple, cozy, and full of peace. First, there would be a big soft chair—the kind that hugs you when you sit down. A small blanket nearby, a warm cup of tea on a side table, and my favorite books within reach.

But the real magic would be the window.

Right outside that window, I’d see the ocean. Waves rolling in and out like they are breathing. The sound would be gentle but powerful, whispering, “Relax… you’re exactly where you should be.” Just watching the waves would ginger my spirit—suddenly my mind would open, ideas would start dancing, and writing would flow easily. Reading there would feel like traveling twice: once through the book and once through the moving water.

The room would smell faintly of sea breeze and paper. No loud noises, just the rhythm of the ocean and the occasional seagull minding its business. A small lamp would cast warm light in the evening, turning the space into a quiet hideaway where worries aren’t allowed to enter.

In that cozy spot, with the ocean keeping me company, I would read deeply, write freely, dream boldly, and rest fully. And honestly, that’s my perfect place—peaceful, inspiring, and beautifully mine.

Peace!

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
