If you ask me who my favorite people to be around are, I won’t hesitate.
My children.
Not celebrities.
Not influencers.
Not even the most successful people in the room.
Just my children.
There is something about being around them that makes my heart settle. When I am with them, I feel safe. Isn’t that funny? Mothers are supposed to be the safe place — yet somehow, they are mine too.
When they laugh, it fills the house.
When they argue (yes, let’s be honest), it still fills the house.
When they hug me, it fills my soul.
Around my children, I don’t have to perform. I don’t have to impress anyone. I don’t have to prove anything. I am simply “Mom.” And that title is enough.
They don’t care if my hair is perfect.
They don’t care if I am tired after a long shift.
They don’t care if life feels overwhelming.
They just want me.
And that makes me feel blessed beyond words.
Being with them reminds me that success isn’t just about money, degrees, or achievements. It’s about moments. It’s about sitting at the table together. It’s about silly jokes. It’s about cooking their favorite meal and pretending I’m not tired while they tell me stories that could have been summarized in two sentences (but somehow take ten minutes).
With them, I feel contented.
Not because life is perfect.
But because love is present.
They are my answered prayer.
They are my daily reminder that God trusted me with something precious.
When the world feels loud, my children are my quiet joy.
When life feels heavy, they are my lightness.
When I feel unsure, they remind me that I am exactly where I am meant to be.
Home is not just a place.
Home is their voices.
Home is their footsteps.
Home is their hugs.
And if you ever wonder where I feel most like myself
It’s right there, surrounded by the ones who call me Mom.
That is my favorite place to be. 🤍
Peace!
