Daily writing prompt
Is your life today what you pictured a year ago?

A year ago, if you had asked me where I thought I’d be today, I would’ve painted a picture filled with hopes, prayers, and a few “by God’s grace” plans. Some of those dreams came true in ways I expected. Others showed up in completely different outfits. And honestly? I’m grateful for all of it.

Life today may not be a perfect match to what I imagined, but it is rich in ways I didn’t fully anticipate. I’ve grown—emotionally, spiritually, and mentally. I’ve learned to celebrate progress rather than perfection, and peace rather than pressure. I’ve discovered that happiness isn’t always loud; sometimes it’s quiet contentment, steady faith, and the simple joy of waking up with hope.

There are still goals I’m working toward and areas where I want to improve. I’m still learning, still stretching, still trusting God with the parts of my life that are “under construction.” But I’ve also learned not to rush the process. Every step, every delay, every blessing—big or small—has meaning.

Today, I’m thankful for lessons learned, doors opened, doors closed, and the strength to keep going. I’m thankful for laughter, for peace of mind, for growth, and for grace. Most of all, I’m thankful for the reminder that life doesn’t have to look exactly how we imagined for it to be beautiful.

As I look ahead to the year to come, my heart is open. Open to more joy. Open to more blessings. Open to becoming a better version of myself. Open to whatever God has planned—because if this past year has taught me anything, it’s that His plans often exceed our expectations.

Here’s to gratitude for where we are, faith for where we’re going, and excitement for all the happiness still ahead.

Peace!

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
