Hello! I would like to discuss a compelling incident involving a Nigerian nurse who was deported from the United Kingdom. This story has some intriguing aspects that I believe will capture your interest. Let’s delve into it!

The gist going around is that a Nigerian nurse, who relocated to the United Kingdom with her husband, has been deported back to Nigeria with her husband. This was due to the husband’s abusive behavior, which she reported to the police, ultimately leading to his deportation from the UK.

The husband, angered by the nurse’s role in his deportation, retaliated by reporting her to the UK’s Board of Nursing, alleging that she forged the IELTS certificate, a prerequisite English test for professionals relocating abroad.

My thoughts: Domestic violence is unacceptable in any relationship or marriage. When a partner becomes physically abusive, there is a high likelihood that the behavior will persist, as it represents a dehumanizing act that gives the abuser a sense of control. Therefore, the nurse was justified in reporting the husband, who was reported to be an abuser, to the police. There is no justification for domestic abuse.

Furthermore, the nurse was also in the wrong for falsifying a certificate to secure employment in the UK. “Integrity” is the key word here.

As both spouses are deported back to Nigeria, this presents an opportunity for them to regroup, reassess the circumstances that brought them to this point, and work on improving their situation.
