Christmas has a special way of turning even the most serious person into a soft marshmallow. One minute you’re discussing bills like an adult, and the next minute you’re dancing to Christmas songs, eating cookies you promised were “for the kids,” and arguing with the tree lights that suddenly stopped working for no reason.

Christmas is that time of year when food becomes a love language. Rice, chicken, jollof, turkey, snacks—everything is invited. Even your diet takes a holiday break. The scale can wait till January; December is for enjoyment.

It’s also the season of gifts—both the thoughtful ones and the “what exactly is this?” ones. But the real gift of Christmas isn’t just what’s under the tree; it’s who’s around it. Family, friends, and that one cousin who takes the biggest portion of food but still says, “I’m not really hungry.”

The best part? Christmas carries a beautiful message: hope, love, and light. It reminds us that no matter how the year went, joy still finds a way to show up—often wrapped in laughter, music, and the smell of something delicious in the kitchen.

So here’s to Christmas magic:
To sparkling lights, loud laughter, full plates, warm hugs, and moments that make your heart feel at home.

May your Christmas be merry, bright, and seasoned with just the right amount of pepper and gingerbread.

Peace!

Quote of the week

"People ask me what I do in the winter when there's no baseball. I'll tell you what I do. I stare out the window and wait for spring."
